Dior fires Galliano

Galliano was arrested last Thursday in the Marais district of Paris, allegedly under-reported drunk assaulting and insulting to many people. Hours later, The Sun hung a video which saw the designer say "I love Hitler." The Dior CEO Sidney Toledano, of Jewish origin, has issued a statement that claimed they would not allow the attitude to dishonor Galliano signature.

In fact, people like Natalie Portman, who is Jewish, said he was "disgusted" after watching the video. John Galliano was born in Gibraltar, the son of a Spanish mother and British father. Proponents appeal to this source to deny anti-Semitism. The designer, despite his histrionics at the time to present their collections (dressed as an astronaut or Napoleon), had never sought controversy off the catwalk.

Galliano joined Dior in 1996, directly from Givenchy. The designer revitalized the brand, updating the so-called "New Look". Among its customers are regulars celebrities like Charlize Theron, Marion Cottillard or Dita Von Teese. The dismissal comes just three days of the parade of prêt-à-porter of Dior in Paris.
