From Palermo to Aosta, Italy has loaned to the seventh art its landscapes, its cities, its streets and squares, as a great location in the open. A theme is an exhibition that opens today at the Casa del Cinema in Rome, entitled Travels in Italy 2. Set of the Italian cinema 1960-1989, the second chapter of a three-year project started in 2010.
On stage until April 25, will be fifty stolen shots during the filming of famous Italian films that have chosen suburban or urban settings, cities or small country town of the beautiful country, as a background for a story. It starts from Sicily so wild and almost "rough" in L'Avventura, Michelangelo Antonioni's masterpiece of 1960, to reach the rich humanity of Civitavecchia What time is it?, Directed by Ettore Scola in 1989.
A curiosity? Some of the photos on display come from the archive of images of the Municipality of Cesana, which has about 100,000 photographs of the scene, including prints and negatives. While the others are the result of research that has involved public and private institutions, as well as filmmakers, photographers and production companies that promptly, have provided their personal assets.
