Auction4Action

If you are in Milan today, and you love good photography is worth a visit at the headquarters of the famous Milanese auction house Sotheby's, via Broggi 19. Allowing the current account, you could grab a shot of the author and give hope to many people in need. Yes, because tonight will be beaten 68 lots to the association FotografiSenzaFrontiere non-profit, independent organization founded in 1997.

The aim is to create permanent photography workshops in "difficult" areas and marginal in the world, like Afghanistan. Why? To teach a new job and provide a means of self-representation, to people who often live in a constant state of subordination and insecurity. The project is called Auction4Action objective and involves famous names such as Gabriele Basilico, Gian Paolo Barbieri, Maurizio Galimberti, Steve McCurry, and could afford to win a shot by Ugo Mulas, Herb Ritz or Luigi Ghirri.

Remarkable is the catalog of works that can be found online, or from 14 to 18 this afternoon at Sotheby's. As the auction gets underway at 19 after a welcome cocktail. What are you waiting? If you can not attend, and take home the famous portrait of Audrey Hepburn in 1965 signed Douglas Kirkland, at least you can enjoy a wonderful photographic exhibition.

Where: Sotheby's, Palazzo Broggi Via Broggi 19, Milan. When: Today Time: from 14:00 to 18:00 an auction preview of the works, at 18:30 welcome cocktail auction beginning at 19:00. Information: FotografiSenzaFrontiere, tel. 02 42290742, info @ fotografisenzafrontiere. org.
