Now it's official: the new creative director of fashion house Christian Dior, after the dismissal of John Galliano, will Riccardo Tisci, current creative director of Givenchy. As you may know, Galliano is in fact been fired for assaulting a couple with a anti-Semitic invective. The excuses, denials and mea culpa, however, are served by little: the leadership of the House of Dior has decided to remove from office the ingenious and original, Galliano.
Aggression Galliano has also been taken with a cell phone and the offending video has made around the web, causing no small embarrassment to the French fashion house. Now pass the scepter to the young and talented Tisci will certainly not an easy life having to replace the rebel genius of Galliano.
The Italian designer still has the huge capacity that also led to revive the fashion house Givenchy in no time. Riccardo Tisci was also chosen in 2008, from Madonna to design costumes for his "Stichy and Sweet Tour." Obviously there will now be an empty seat at Givenchy, according to rumors, could be entrusted to the young Belgian Olivier Theyskens, creative director of Nina Ricci in 2006.
The genius of Galliano certainly is not discussed but the offending episode was far too serious to be ignored. Now Dior has decided to invest in a young Italian talent. What do you think of the change? Do you agree with the choice of the young Italian designer?
