Children: how much they cost in the first year of life?

But what cost us these children! It 'an exclamation common among new parents who find themselves having to quantify the financial cost for each new child entails, especially during the first year of life. The prices of items for the baby suffered a rise in recent months, thanks to the economic crisis, many families find themselves burdened with costs that really puts a strain on the monthly budget.

Federconsumatori tried to deal in his pocket to parents with a newborn at home, to find out what the costs for the care of the smallest, and the result was that during the first 12 months, ranging from a minimum of € 6,119 , to a maximum of € 13,486. The calculation is for the year 2010/11, and is as follows: nappies (between 600 and 990 € yearly for inflation of 3% compared to 2010), baby food and milk (between 1,358 and € 3,250 per year); bottles (pack of four between 28 and 44 €, with an average increase of 25% in 2011), sterilizers (between 47 and 86 €).

We come to the room furnishings and toiletries: Baby (from € 170-410 of 2010 grew to € 182-419 of 2011), beds (from € 240-710 of 2010 255-729 of 2011 to ), changing (from € 69-230 of 2010, the year of € 75-349), baths (from € 24-75 in 2010 to € 29-89 of 2011). Finally, transport, modular Trio, which includes stroller, car seat and basket, has a cost ranging between 329 and 650 €, but it is also recommended because it still involves a savings compared to buying three kennels separated.

Figures, of course, crazy. Federconsumatori concludes his survey with a sore covering medical expenses, only they, in fact, in the first year of the child amount to a figure somewhere between 740 and 1750 € per year and, again, we see considerable and increases in ticket fees and pediatric specialist.

This is because, alas, the health service does not provide performance almost never home, so many parents are forced to rely on private, whose visit does not cost never less than 125 €. With a price increase between 4 and 5% only in recent months, it remains clear that the Italian State or severely decides to give a helping hand to families with specific policies, or the growth of the population, recently slope, will return to fall rapidly.
