The secret of beauty? A good night's sleep. It has long been known that the lack of sleep effects on memory and learning. Now we find that also affects our physical appearance. He says a study by a team from the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, headed by John Axelsson, who has analyzed the link between a good night's sleep and the perception of the attractive and healthy than one person.
The Swedish researchers have photographed, using the same machine and in a lighted room, 23 volunteers (18 to 31 years, nonsmokers and had not consumed any alcohol in the days before the experiment) on different days but always between 14 and 15 and above in two different conditions: after a night he had slept well (eight hours) and when they were in deficit of sleep (31 hours of sleep after a night in the white part).
In both cases had to be without makeup, her hair loose, washed, shaved and had to take an expression as much as possible relaxed and neutral. Then the images were shown to a group of 65 volunteers because they were considered beautiful and healthy appearance of the faces, knowing nothing about who had slept well and who's not.
Well, were judged more attractive faces more rested. As if to say that sleep is good physical appearance. "The results show that those deprived of sleep appears to be less healthy, less attractive and looks more tired than when well rested - says the research .- This suggests that we are sensitive to facial features related to sleep, with potential implications for the opinions and behaviors, social and clinical.
