On the occasion of International Women's Day, the brand L'Occitane launches a product whose proceeds will be donated 100% to charity. This is a soap made BurkinaFaso (Africa), through a joint venture between the fashion house known beauty and a fair trade cooperative and supportive of the place, run by women only.
The aim is to encourage, through the purchase of this product, the development of the country, particularly the economic and social empowerment of local women. Useful for cleaning hands in a gentle way, this soap - which also shows the engraving of the word "Women's Day" in six different languages - it contains shea butter (55%) and is available in all L'Occitane boutiques, the approximate cost of € 4.50.
Small curiosity: in the region of Burkina Faso, the International Women's Day is very important, so as to constitute a public holiday. To celebrate this special occasion the women wear party dresses, all colored and decorated with patterns that vary from year to year. And these clothes (especially those used in 2009) inspired the pack containing soap eco-solidarity signed by Occitane.
